Hustles – Less Beaten in Life, Find Your Hustle

What is a hustle anyway? It’s a way to make money on the side. It’s a hobby you’re trying to monetize. It’s solving a problem that impacts a lot of people in a way that’s repeatable.

I’ve had a few hustles in my life. Enough in fact that my grandfather once gave me a trophy with a dollar sign on it as he felt I always knew how to find a way to make a buck. I’ve mowed lawns, and delivered papers from a bicycle (when that was still a thing), I’ve sold mistletoe at Christmas. Some of my hustles have got me in trouble with authorities. I met with the principle in grade school when she feared students were spending their lunch money on the baseball card grab bags I was selling. I successfully hid the stash of Hubba Bubba that I was selling in junior high by stashing it in a friend’s locker. For a while when I was in my 20s, I built a website on the side. I’ve even successfully sold stock photography.
